Today I was supposed to be telling you how much of a badass I am because on Monday I was supposed to learn how to shoot a Bow & Arrow with my friend, Melissa. See, she just read The Hunger Games, and we decided we needed to become Katniss and learn ourselves some Archery!
We went online and found an archery range in Plainfield, which is just around the corner from where we work together. So exciting! Their winter hours stated they were closed on Sundays & Mondays, but that they would be open Monday, January 7th 12-8pm. Perfect! We both had the day off work and were PUMPED!
After a phone call to see if we needed an appointment or anything to get a lesson, it was confirmed that we just show up and have fun. Excellent.
That is, until we pull up, see the empty parking lot and the big signs that say CLOSED! BOO!
So. I am not a badass. Sad! :(
Since then, I've been down for the count with some sort of stomach flu/bug. bleh! Lots of sleeping and drinking tea has been happening. Unfortunately I've also missed two days of work so far. I'm hoping I feel well enough to go back tomorrow. My bank account will be very sad if I miss more work!
Tea and the Big Bang Theory - obviously the best way to get over a sickness!
In other news - we've officially decided to turn our hall coat closet into a pantry! Our kitchen is severely lacking in storage space, so this will help a lot. The closet in question is just around the corner from our fridge, so it's not completely out of the way. I'm most excited to have more space for pots and pans, rather than the avalanche that happens when you open that cabinet - it's dangerous!
We're going to install an Elfa shelving system from The Container Store. Since the space is small, the price isn't that outrageous, plus it's the only wall-mounted system I can find with 3 foot shelves (the size of the closet).
And, finally, I've been working on building even more inventory to get ready for my Etsy shop grand opening later this month - which basically means I've been adding to my fabric collection like crazy!
Mini Wallets - Coming soon! :)
New styles of Bow Clutches are being added almost daily.
So, there you go. I'm not so much a badass with awesome archery skills, but one day I will be! We're planning to try again in the Spring when Melissa is back from school again.
Have you ever shot a bow & arrow? Is it as cool as it seems? haha
What crazy adventures have you been up to lately?

I'm still so much in love with the bow clutch with the branches on it!
ReplyDeleteSucks so bad that they were closed! You should have complained, maybe you'd get something free then :P Can't wait to see your new pantry all decked out!
ReplyDeleteMini wallets?! When were you going to tell us? Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThat stinks that they were closed! Oh, well... next time!
ReplyDeleteExcited to see your pantry progress! :)
Love the little mini wallet- great idea!
ReplyDeleteBoo about the archery! Shayne's best friend (and best man at the wedding) is big into archery. He worked at an archery store and even went to the Canada games to represent Ontario and won! I've only ever shot the toy versions.... haha. I don't think that counts.
I remember my dad tried to have me shoot his bow & arrow when i was in jr high and i was NOT STRONG ENOUGH to pull it all the way back. MUSCLES required :)
ReplyDeletealso those bow clutches are adorable. i will have to favorite your shop now and pass it on to my friend who is getting married, because i wouldnt mind one as a bridesmaid gift LOL :)
Love Big Bang Theory!! When you finally learn how to use a bow and arrow you can go gator hunting with my hubby...LOL!!! Feel better:0)
ReplyDeleteLove your clutches! They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteReally hope you're feeling better! :)
